KRZYSZTOF SADOWSKI
 

– musician. Composer, has also made a name for himself as jazz popularizer and  activist.

 

In 1987 – 1995:  v-president of Union of Polish Writers and Composers.

Since 1995: president of the Polish Jazz Society and secretary of STOART-Union of Polish Performing Artists’ Associations the biggest collecting society in Poland.

Member of AEPO Working Group – Association of European Performers Organization in Brussels.

Author more than 200 songs recorded in Polish radio, TV and CD’s,

special book edition: “Five Pieces for Electronic Organ”.

Author of 150 music programs broadcasted on public and commercial TV. 

    
Still a student of a music college (piano class conducted by the excellent Waldemar „Valdi” Maciszewski - winner of Chopin Competition, Krzysztof Sadowski took part in the 2nd Jazz Music Festival in Sopot 1957. He was then leader of Modern Combo. Also in that time, he entered into cooperation with Zbyszek Namysłowski, the cellist of the group, and later the alto sax player with Jazz Rockers (1960-1963). Later Michael Urbaniak joined this outfit.

   Krzysztof Sadowski also colaborated in that time: Jerzy Dudu¶ Matuszkiewicz's  SWINGTET, Andrzej Kurylewicz¢s  MODERNISTS and Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski's  JAZZ OUTSIDERS. In the years 1964-1967 Sadowski was the leader of the Polish National Radio Broadcaster group: BOSSA-NOVA COMBO. He spent the next two years in Sweden and returned to the country as an organist with a new model Hammond organ. Ever since Krzysztof Sadowski has been playing with his own ORGAN GROUP.
